Part of the Carnaval Diabolique series – but one which is not currently released *cries* – this is a gorgeous scent: sweet and thick, it is headachey and unctuous. I don’t know how old my bottle is – again, it came from the de-stashing of a friend, to whom I am eternally grateful for allowing me to smell this smell.
It’s dusty leather: human skin dried down til it smells of baby powder – a strange resurrection. It isn’t a cool scent, but it isn’t quite warm, either. If anything, it’s tepid…but in that comforting way that soup eaten at just the right temperature is. It warms from the inside, like rum, and it has the same heady sweetness and amber tang.
Tempting, like a curse, smooth, like a caress. A dead hand, touching the living.
